Much more is needed, to extend the range of
endeavours, to reach the thousands of women threatened or affected by
sexual violence in many conflict situations around the world.
The mission of the Alliance for Direct Action against Rape in Conflict and Crises (AllianceDARC) is straightforward:
We will do this with direct targeted action to:
As an independent alliance of national and international partners, AllianceDARC is dedicated to focused delivery of the above four-point strategy. Projects and activities under this strategy will be conducted by mutually-reinforcing bodies - including community based groups, NGOs, research and academic institutions and others, linked by the mission of the Alliance.
The Alliance seeks support from members of the public in many countries, as well as from international organisations, private sector and government donor sources. Contact and linkages will be encouraged between individual and group members of the Alliance and specific geographically based projects.
The Alliance has its headquarters in Geneva and will be a registered charitable foundation in Switzerland, UK, and USA. It has minimal staffing (mostly voluntary) to maximise resources for practical action in the field.

3 July 2007 Investigating Harms, Causing Harm: Balancing the ethical pitfalls to doing research on sexual violence with women in conflict settings. A paper written by Annalijn Conklin. 13 December 2006 The Geneva Forum against Sexual Violence convened a panel discussion “Sexual Violence and Darfur: What Can Be Done?” In support of the Day for Darfur, this meeting was hosted by the Geneva Centre for Security and Policy. 10 December 2006 The Day for Darfur Across the world individuals and organizations called for immediate action to put an end to the sexual violence committed against women and girls. PDF 12-14 October 2006 Robin Coupland’s "XYXX the biology of love" met with unexpected success. The exhibition drew considerable media interest and a crowd of 450 came to the opening alone. Over 80% of paintings sold at the exhibition, raising CHF 40,000 for AlllianceDARC. 12 October Moderato con Brio Classically trained opera singer Kristy Griffiths sang the classical works of Mozart, Wagnard, Haydn and many others in Meyrin. Proceeds were donated to AllianceDARC. 23 September 2006 Real Men don’t do that! The AllianceDARC fundraising event, featuring Craig McConnell and Powerplay drew a crowd at Mr Pickwick Pub and raised CHF 2,500 in support of AllianceDARC, against sexual violence in conflicts.
